![]() I asked the service writer about the rebuild and they only have 1 transmission tech in-house with over 30 years exp., or so he said. ![]() They were going to order a reman transmission but the service manager and parts people found all the parts and said this would get me back on the road much quicker. I fully expected them to just reflash/reset and send me on but they did a complete rebuild - new CDF drum (new part #), new torque converter, new valve body, plates, seals, etc. Two weeks plus 1 day and they delivered it. I dropped it off on Monday afternoon - 8/14 and got it back last night. I took mine in for an intermittent hard downshift from 5th to 3rd and less frequently from 9th to 8th. I was looking for the 22-2428 reference in the paperwork but this one was documented instead. I just got my truck back last night from my dealer and this is the TSB referenced in the repair. About a year and 8 months left in powertrain warrantee.ΔΆ017 XLT 3.5 EB with 10-speed, 72300 miles, w/ Ford ESP (thankfully!) ![]() I have less than 13k miles on the truck, no towing, almost all gently city driving. If not for following the forums and urging from a Ford representative who posted on one of the recent transmission topics I probably would not have pursued investigating. Nothing alarming and it has probably been slowly getting worse without me really noticing it. I occasionally get a pretty stiff shift into 5th whether from 4th or 3rd and less frequently a very harsh shift back to 3. Is anyone familiar with this work or the TSB? It looks like after this step, if not resolved, they pull and rebuild the transmission. I am unaware if they found codes, but regardless, the symptoms were not resolved by software updates and they are ordering parts for what I believe will be the "Sticking Valves - Main Control Valve Body- Procedure Group A" (page 17) portion of the TSB. I was aware of 22-2428 and was surprised to see this new one superseding it. I brought my truck in for harsh/delayed shift diagnosis and after 6 business days (customer service rant to follow eventually) I found out today that they are following TSB 23-2250.
